I was the spouse without the built-in job structure, and that made the move harder than people expected. The GTA works best when you choose based on commute and community together, not only the largest house you can afford. My advice is to rent or stay flexible at first if you do not fully understand the area yet. It did get easier, but not because everything became perfect. It got easier because we stopped expecting the move to solve every problem.
