Representation helped, but it did not automatically create friendship. We still had to show up repeatedly and build community. In New Jersey, town choice matters more than outsiders realize. Two towns ten miles apart can feel like different lives. My advice is to rent or stay flexible at first if you do not fully understand the area yet.
