This is one of those decisions where the neighborhood and daily route matter more than the city name. For us, the biggest mistake was treating Bangkok, Thailand as one simple choice. The real decision was school commute, housing location, language comfort, medical access, and whether the parent who handles daily logistics could function without burning out. The first few weeks were not normal life. They were setup mode. Forms, phone plans, school messages, groceries, doctor appointments, transport routes, and apartment rules all arrived at once. My advice is to choose the option that makes weekdays easier, not the one that looks best in photos. Relocation does not fail because the city is bad. It fails when ordinary days become too heavy.
