Has anyone moved from Brooklyn, New York to Aliso Viejo, California and felt surprised by the day-to-day reality? Spouse transfer with school-age kids is our main reason, but I’m trying to separate the nice relocation idea from the actual weekday routine. I’m especially trying to understand this: Moving to Irvine with teenagers?. One child is excited and the other is already upset, which makes every choice feel heavier. People keep mentioning Asian grocery access, HOA rules, and childcare costs. Which of those actually mattered most?
