Posting from Richmond, Virginia. We may be heading to Marietta, Georgia, mostly because of commute decision. On paper it makes sense, but I don’t want to make a clean spreadsheet decision and then create a messy family life. Specific question: Is Marietta too far from Atlanta?. We have two kids and one dog, so the decision feels bigger than just picking a nice neighborhood. We are trying to understand the real neighborhood feel, not just online rankings. What did you only understand after living there for a few months?

I live near this now, and my answer is mixed. choose the area that fits your ordinary week, not the one that sounds best in a relocation group. Around Marietta, Georgia, school-zone differences and intown versus suburb trade-offs can matter more than people expect. Drive the route at the real commute time, then visit the grocery store, park, school area, and coffee shop you think you will actually use. The best neighborhood is usually the one that makes Tuesday easier, not Saturday prettier.
