Has anyone moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Kirkland, Washington and felt surprised by the day-to-day reality? Leaving a high-cost city is our main reason, but I’m trying to separate the nice relocation idea from the actual weekday routine. I’m especially trying to understand this: First winter: did anyone question the move?. This move is exciting on paper, but I can already tell the first few months may be messy. People keep mentioning no AC in older homes, tech work schedules, and dark winters. Which of those actually mattered most?
