Has anyone moved from Sacramento, California to Mercer Island, Washington and felt surprised by the day-to-day reality? Employer transfer paperwork is our main reason, but I’m trying to separate the nice relocation idea from the actual weekday routine. I’m especially trying to understand this: Buying in Washington: inspection issues newcomers should ask about?. My spouse is more practical about the move than I am, and I keep worrying about the emotional side. People keep mentioning school pressure, rainy-day routines, and no AC in older homes. Which of those actually mattered most?

The listing photos are not the lifestyle. keep paperwork boring and organized. School records, medical records, vehicle documents, proof of address, lease terms, insurance, employer paperwork, and IDs should be ready before the move gets chaotic. If visa or work authorization is involved, treat forum advice as background only and confirm with the employer or a qualified professional. Use one digital folder and one printed folder. Moving has a talent for hiding the exact paper needed tomorrow morning.
