Has anyone moved from Sacramento, California to Mercer Island, Washington and felt surprised by the day-to-day reality? Employer transfer paperwork is our main reason, but I’m trying to separate the nice relocation idea from the actual weekday routine. I’m especially trying to understand this: Buying in Washington: inspection issues newcomers should ask about?. My spouse is more practical about the move than I am, and I keep worrying about the emotional side. People keep mentioning school pressure, rainy-day routines, and no AC in older homes. Which of those actually mattered most?
