The first month is not real life. It is setup mode. You are learning transport, groceries, school messages, doctors, bills, weather, and social rules all at once. Do not judge the relocation while your brain is still translating every tiny routine. Small routines made the city feel personal: same bakery, same park, same school parent, same walking route. Home arrived slowly.

Loneliness can happen even in a friendly city. People may be kind but busy. We made friends through repeated places, not one-off events: school volunteering, sports, religious community, language class, dog walks, and the same cafe every week.
