We are moving from India to Madrid for a tech job and have two children in primary school. I know Madrid has international families, but I do not know how easy it is to find Indian groceries, cultural events, Hindu community, cricket, dance, and families with similar routines. Where do Indian families usually build community in Madrid?

Community exists, but it is more spread out than places like Edison, London, or Singapore. We found Indian families through school, WhatsApp groups, temple visits, dance class, and work networks. Groceries require planning, but they are manageable. The bigger issue was that my wife felt socially isolated the first few months because everyone assumed the kids were the ones adjusting. She needed community too.

North Madrid worked for us because many international/tech families were nearby. It is not the most charming Madrid, but weekday life is easier.

Do not wait for a perfect Indian neighborhood. Madrid does not work that way. Build a routine around school and groups.
