Has anyone moved from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Lutz, Florida and felt surprised by the day-to-day reality? Spouse transfer with school-age kids is our main reason, but I’m trying to separate the nice relocation idea from the actual weekday routine. I’m especially trying to understand this: Is Tampa a good place to raise kids?. We are also thinking about visiting grandparents, healthcare, and whether the area will still fit us in five years. People keep mentioning pet heat safety, flood zones, and car insurance. Which of those actually mattered most?
