I am a single mother considering Lisbon with two children. I want a safer, calmer life than what we have now, but I’m nervous about moving without family support. I need schools, healthcare, after-school activities, and a place where I can manage daily life without a partner. Has any single parent relocated to Lisbon?

Lisbon felt safe, but single parenting abroad is still hard. Safety helps, walkability helps, and people are generally kind to children. But when a child is sick, school is closed, or paperwork goes wrong, you feel the lack of backup. Build support before you need it: school parents, babysitter, neighbor, doctor, and one friend you can call.
