We are moving with a medium-sized dog and two kids. Lisbon looks dog-friendly in videos, but rentals are already competitive, and some landlords seem hesitant about pets. I’m also worried about sidewalks, heat, apartment noise, and finding green space. Any advice from families who moved with dogs?

Dog-friendly is possible, but it narrows your housing search. Ask directly before falling in love with a flat. Check nearby green space, elevator, balcony safety, summer heat, and barking sensitivity. Our dog adjusted well, but only because we chose the apartment around daily walks.

Cascais was easier for our dog than central Lisbon. More space, more relaxed walks, less sidewalk stress.

Bring pet paperwork very carefully. The emotional part is hard enough without document surprises.
