We like Campo de Ourique because it seems walkable, residential, full of shops, and not too touristy. We have two kids and want a neighborhood where daily life works without driving all the time. But apartments seem older, smaller, and sometimes without elevators or parking. Is Campo de Ourique practical for families or just charming for visitors?

It is practical if you accept older-building compromises. We love walking to bakeries, parks, groceries, school activities, and cafes. It feels like a real neighborhood. But yes, elevators, storage, insulation, noise, and parking can be issues. Do not rent based only on charm. Carry groceries up the stairs once in your imagination before signing.

The neighborhood is wonderful with kids, but school commute still matters. We loved Campo until we realized our chosen school was across the city.
