We are a Korean family moving from Fort Lee to Lisbon because my husband has a tech opportunity. I know Lisbon has international families, but I’m worried my parents will feel isolated when they visit. Korean food, church, doctors, hair salons, and grocery routines are easy in New Jersey. I do not expect that level in Portugal, but I do not want to feel completely disconnected. How do Asian families handle Lisbon?

You will not have Fort Lee convenience. That is the honest answer. We found Asian groceries and restaurants, but not the dense Korean ecosystem we had in New Jersey. My parents missed Korean church most. The kids adjusted through international school faster than the adults adjusted through community. We cook more at home now, and Korean food became family routine instead of neighborhood convenience.
