For families who moved to Lisbon, would you choose it again? We want culture, language, safety, a different pace, and a broader worldview for our children. But we worry about school cost, housing, bureaucracy, language barriers, salaries, and being far from family. Would you do it again?

Yes, but I would arrive with fewer fantasies. Lisbon gave our family slower weekends, language exposure, kindness toward children, beautiful public spaces, better weather, and a wider world. It also gave us paperwork stress, school anxiety, housing frustration, language humility, and homesickness. I would choose it again. I would not call it easy.

I would do two years again. Permanent? I am not sure. That distinction helped me stop panicking.

Yes, but only because we chose the boring practical neighborhood over the romantic one.

The move improved our family life, but not automatically. We had to build the life we imagined.
