      We are moving from Portland, Oregon to Burnaby, British Columbia, and this question has become the thing I keep coming back to. The move makes sense on paper because of rental documents, but the real-life details feel more complicated than the clean relocation advice we keep hearing. Moving from California and realizing we may need to rent much smaller. I’m trying to understand how this feels after the first few months, not just during a weekend visit or a corporate relocation tour. For families or newcomers who have already been through something similar, what would you do differently? What should we take seriously before making the decision?

      Same here. Our kids adapted faster than we did, which surprised me.

      I thought I was being careful, then the first utility and moving bills arrived.
