We are considering a move to Bangkok, Thailand and trying to understand what daily life would actually feel like for our family. The specific concern is dog adjustment to heat, condo life, and vets. Online guides make it sound manageable, but I want to hear from people who have lived through the messy first year. We have kids, school routines, work pressure, and family expectations involved, so this is not just a lifestyle experiment. What should we prepare for before making the move?

I would separate the dream version from the Tuesday-morning version. For us, the biggest mistake was treating Bangkok, Thailand as one simple choice. The real decision was school commute, housing location, language comfort, medical access, and whether the parent who handles daily logistics could function without burning out. The first few weeks were not normal life. They were setup mode. Forms, phone plans, school messages, groceries, doctor appointments, transport routes, and apartment rules all arrived at once. My advice is to choose the option that makes weekdays easier, not the one that looks best in photos. Relocation does not fail because the city is bad. It fails when ordinary days become too heavy.
