Leaving Wisconsin for California was like stepping into another world. In my hometown, winter lasted nearly half the year, but here, people wear shorts in January. I had to adjust to the fast-paced lifestyle, higher cost of living, and the fact that everyone seems to be into hiking or surfing. I miss the small-town feel, but waking up to ocean views makes it worth it.
