Our move takes us from Portland, Oregon to Palisades Park, New Jersey, and there’s one thing I keep turning over. The honest answer is less romantic than people want. Choose the place that makes Tuesday morning easier, not the place that sounds best online. In New Jersey, town choice matters more than outsiders realize. Two towns ten miles apart can feel like different lives. My advice is to rent or stay flexible at first if you do not fully understand the area yet.
