Austin is fantastic if you want culture, outdoor activities, and a younger vibe, but housing costs shocked us. We originally moved there from Brooklyn because everyone talked about Austin being affordable. That may have been true years ago, but today it’s one of the pricier markets in Texas. Great city, just make sure the budget matches reality.
